Telling others just how fabulous you are, is a bit of “trumpet blowing”, but it’s also very useful to those who visit your website.
No reviews, no quotes, and people just take you as they see you. But “They are brilliant, helped me out so much”, goes a very long way.
There are a few Review systems around, such as:
- Google Reviews
- Trust Pilot
- FeeFo
- Yell
(there are loads more…).
Right now tho, we are concentrating on Google Reviews, because when you Google search a company, that’s what you will find, if they have a Google Profile. So why not show those reviews on your website, when they visit you? Sounds cool, doesn’t it.
WordPress makes this pretty easy to do, but you do need a full Google Account to do it, and sometimes a Project Account too, as while you get free credits to use a plugin to show your reviews, you still need that account on which the credits are assigned. It’s simpler than it sounds.
Many businesses use Adwords – so they will be fine.
Some who don’t, it’s still easy to add. We can help there.
If you visit our homepage, you will see some of our reviews, but what if you have multiple locations, and each one has its own profile – yep we can do that too. A little bit of “Google Places API” fun and games, and it all works.
But what if you have some bad reviews (it happens… rightly or often wrongly). Well, you can hide whatever reviews you wanted to, such as from someone who is dodgy, or if it was 1 star and no info – doesn’t help anyone! So you can hide them so they don’t appear on the website (tho would in your actual Google Reviews).
How do I get Google Reviews on my WordPress website?

- Job 1: we check if you have Google reviews.
- 2: We install a free plugin that then checks to see if it can connect to your account.
- 3: if it connects, we simply design it a little, then place the code on any pages you want to show your reviews.
If you do not have an account to be able to use it, then we need to delve in a little more to your account. But it’s all doable with your co-operation to make it happen.

We found Simon to be very responsive to both out of hours requests and difficult questions. The website chat box is a very good responsive touch, and we really appreciated his late Saturday night instant changes to our website when we were discussing our final touches/changes before launch. Before working with Simon our website was indexed and available on Google but was not being listed in searches.
