We are always delighted when a client of long standing, asks us about an upgrade to their website, particularly if it is looking a little older now, or using and old theme or style, that can be modernised.
James from Dyslexia Matters, who has been with us for many years, discussed about the change to upgrade the website, using a new Training system, with built in theme. We tried a few ideas, but turned out one worked really well with Buddy Boss. This is not a paid advert at all. It’s simply what James discovered worked well for them.
It came with a theme, tho oddly while it works with many page builders, it comes with none of them! First time we have had a theme where the tool to “build” the pages, is missing. We had to therefore purchase WP Bakery separatly. That being said, the theme had things already built in, like options, layouts etc. Not our favourite ever theme, but for this purpose, it was definitely fit for the task (if missing that vital element!).
The plan was for us to quickly clone their website, stop Google indexing it, purchasing the theme elements needed, install and do what we could for it. Then hand it over to James and his team to learn how to work with the theme and pages.
Once they were ready, we took over, made some final changes (with future plans too), and checked with Learn Dash about migrating content. They do have a tool to do this, but alas it’s not that effective. IE. if you clone a site and migrate the latest updates, it does seem to “duplicate” rather than just “update”, but we worked around it. Made life easier to go live, rather than having to copy code and build all over again!
Time will tell if Buddy Boss is good, as they need to see it from the users’ perspective, but so far so good. Always nice to upgrade websites, whether it is just a web design page job to be done, or a full on WordPress Website Redesign. We can do it all.
